Recently NatureServe and Network staff had the opportunity to collaborate with Australian ecologists to apply NatureServe’s International Vegetation Classification (IVC) to Australian woodlands and grasslands, providing a comprehensive approach for describing and classifying ecosystems at multiple scales. The results will be published in the Australian Journal of Botany.

Representatives from NatureServe and participating jurisdictions recently held a live Q&A panel about iMapInvasives, an online tool for tracking and managing invasive species, which more than 200 people attended!

NatureServe’s Director of Biodiversity Indicators Program, Mike Gill, collaborated with researchers from China and Germany to complete a pivotal and timely study in the leading international journal Nature Ecology & Evolution, analyzing why the world continues to fall short in reaching its global biodiversity targets.

A new publication from the Virginia Natural Heritage Program finds several rare and endemic species at Difficult Creek Natural Area Preserve, which has thrived since going under the program's protection and having reintroduced fire through controlled burns.

The Arkansas Natural Heritage Commission was involved in the production and release of a comprehensive field guide to the woody flora of Arkansas, including detailed information and more than 1,500 color photos of species & communities they track.

Scientists from the Vermont Natural Heritage Program, who collaborated with NatureServe and the Network on the National Vegetation Classification (NVC), have updated the links between their state natural community classification and the NVC.
