While their flights of fancy may seem insignificant, butterflies are sentinels or early indicators of this change, and can act as important messengers to raise awareness. Based on current evidence, and on a review of this evidence by a range of national and international experts, this report aims to provide an overview of the status of butterflies in Canada.
