Megan Espe is a project manager at NatureServe. Before joining NatureServe in 2024, she worked in the College of Natural Resources at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point. She served as outreach coordinator at a campus nature preserve, where she developed a nonprofit friends group. She also taught environmental interpretation courses and later managed an outreach center devoted to forestry professional development. Megan traces her passion for the environment back to the 30 acres where she grew up in the unglaciated Driftless Region of southwestern Wisconsin.

Megan earned a B.A. in English, with a minor in environmental studies, from St. Olaf College in Northfield, Minn., and a M.S. in natural resources at UW-Stevens Point. She is based in central Wisconsin and enjoys hiking, camping, and visiting public land.
